We went to the doctor this morning for Noelle's 18 month appointment, and she continues to thrive:
Weight: 25 pounds 12 oz (75%)
Height: 33 3/4 inches (75%)
Head Circumference: 46.5 cm (40%)
Who knew I could birth a daughter who remains in the 75 percentile for height at 18 months? Hopefully this means she will be larger than my whooping 5 ft and almost an inch!
Noelle also got 2 shots and while she didn't love them, some water and a snack immediately following the shots made everything better. We don't go back til August when she is 2 - it's crazy how big she is getting!

Noelle's New Tent
This past weekend, my mom, dad, and their dog, J J as Noelle affectionately calls him came for a visit. I'll post on that more later, but Noelle also received a special Valentine's Day gift from Bryan's grandmother - a princess tent! I have to say, I was skeptical at first, but it is actually really cute. And best of all, we can hide all of Noelle's books and toys that live in our family room inside! Here is Noelle ready to show everyone her new tent!

My Girly Girl
I think it is because I refused to put her in pink for the first several months of life. Or maybe because I asked for green and yellow knowing I was having a girl. Whatever the reason, Noelle has decided in the past week that she really must be wearing a dress each day. She loves to twirl around and show it off, and gets great joy out of telling Byran which one she wants to wear each morning. Thankfully it has been slightly warmer than freezing, but we have had to invest in more tights this week. Here is my little girly girl in her dresses:

It makes me feel slightly better to remember I really liked dresses too when I was little. And I like them now, to an extent. As long as she still wants to run around and play sports and get dirty too, I'm happy! Happy 18 months to my little girly girl!

Puh zzle!
This week, one of my co-workers whose youngest son is now 4 brought 2 huge boxes of toys in to work for us. It was like Christmas all over again! The boxes surrounded Noelle when I put her in the car on the way home, and apparently it was overwhelming. I think she said toy about 300 times on the 5 minute drive from day care to our house!
When we got home and I began making dinner, Noelle started checking out the new goods. Most of the items were Little People trucks, cars, and play areas, and we now have a car wash, zoo, and race track to go with our airport, farm, and nativity scene. Mary and Joseph are going to have so much fun in the off season! Noelle also got a cool train with dancing animals. Despite all these awesome new toys, the one she loves the most - the transportation puzzle. Or puh zzle as she says it! Over the past few days, Ellie has probably put it together and taken it apart several hundred times. Gotta love the simple things in life!

Our Big Girl
It is hard to believe what a big girl Noelle is these days. She says well over 100 words and actually gets a short sentence in every now and then. She is doing great with her numbers and ABCs, and is starting to get in to colors. She loves her big girl bed, and only gets out after a good 11+ hours of sleeping, and then only to grab a book or toy to bring back in to bed until we come get her. But most of all, she just looks like a big girl these days. Here are some recent pictures of my little girl. I can't believe she will be a year and a half next week!

Super Bowl Sunday
Bryan and I aren't big sports fans. I mean yes, we like sports. At least football, pro-baseball, and college basketball. But we aren't fanatics. We don't plan our weekends around what team is playing when. Maybe it's because all I watched growing up was sports and the weather channel, but now I can take them or leave them.
So we didn't have any plans to watch the big game. Which honestly, made us pretty happy. Besides perhaps eating some yummy food, I can think of about a million things I'd rather do then go out in the cold somewhere on a Sunday night. Seriously, who decided this thing should be on a Sunday night? Sure, it starts at 6:30 supposedly, but add in a commercial break after each play, a 30 minute musical performance at half-time, and the predictable late kick-off, and your talking 10:30 if your lucky. As this is at least an hour after my bedtime, I can really do without the whole thing.
Plus, I have to say I don't really care about either team. Well, I guess that isn't exactly true. I truly hate Big Ben so am happy to root for anytime playing against him. Let's just say that Big Ben didn't suddenly become a jerk when he got to the NFL. As we overlapped time at Miami and he lived in the residence hall our classmate ran, we know first hand he wasn't the nicest guy in college. I'm guessing his big head and sense of entitlement go back much farther than his Redhawk days though. So yeah, I guess you could say we preferred a Packers victory.
We did end up watching the game. Or at least some of the game. We mostly watched for the commercials. Which weren't great - but there is always the anticipation that one will be awesome that keeps you going! Noelle is a football fan, so she enjoyed the beginning of the game. She announced she was ready for bed around 7:30 though, so I guess even she didn't find it that exciting!
Here are a few pictures of Noelle enjoying the game with her dad.

Patapsco Woods
Yes, our house needs work. But really, whose doesn't? In fifteen years, when we are finished all the necessary projects - basement, kitchen, bathrooms, floors- I'm sure we'll find other projects to keep us busy. Despite needing work, I love our house. And mostly because I love our neighborhood. I enjoy driving down Hilton towards our house each night. When it isn't freezing outside with black ice all around, I love walking Maddie down the street. And I especially love walking through the woods and around the convent with Noelle's stroller and Maddie whenever its light in the evening.
Tonight our street had a party. While our neighborhood probably has about 200 houses, our street is really removed from the rest of the neighborhood, so we sort of do our own thing. This was our first gathering with our neighbors, and our first opportunity to meet some of them. While we are at least 10 years younger than any one else on our street, everyone was so welcoming and amazing. We already had met most people, but it was great to chat with people, rather than just exchange passing hello's. We did learn next time we need to step up our food offerings - an easy appetizer just isn't going to cut it - apparently we live on a street of some serious cooks and eaters! I'm just glad we brought something other than chips and dip - that would have been embarrassing!
So yes, our house isn't perfect. But we are in the right place and I'm excited this is the house we'll have while we watch Noelle grow up. Patapsco Woods was a great place for our forever house and I'm so excited that 9 months later, we are still happy with our house buying decision!
