Announcing...Alien!

The Saxton's are excited to announce that come October they will be a family of 4 (5 with Maddie)! Baby #2, affectionately termed Alien by mom, dad, and Noelle, will be here in early October and we couldn't be more thrilled. And in true Saxton baby fashion, Alien is uncooperative in utero. At our 12 week ultrasound at JHU, Alien refused to face us all, meaning the techs (yup, 3 people tried) couldn't get a view of his/her nose. Apparently looking at the nose is very important in determining a little one's odds of chromosomal issues. So back down to JHU we will go next Thursday for another ultrasound. No arguments here since anytime we can see our little one is a ok with us. And since we didn't get an option of an early ultrasound with Noelle, it is pretty exciting to have more this pregnancy!

I have been feeling pretty well, although not as great as I did pregnant with Noelle. That could be because I am constantly at work or chasing after a toddler so am always exhausted and a little nauseous, but again I have had no hardcore sickness and in the grand scheme of things few bouts of nausea. I do already look huge and want to collapse in bed early each night. I have just started a little bit of the dizziness and carpal tunnel I experienced last pregnancy, and I am sure the charlie horses in the middle of the night aren't far behind, but for now I am enjoying my relatively symptom free pregnancy. And Noelle is super excited for Baby Alien. She knows the baby lives in my belly right now and gives Alien kisses whenever possible. The whole thing is adorable and we know she'll be a great big sister. Noelle will be 26 months when Alien is born, a little older than we originally had hoped, but an October due date is perfect as it gives me maternity leave through the holidays. We'll keep everyone updated the next 28 or so weeks as Alien grows, Noelle learns what being a big sister really entails, and we get the house ready for the Alien Invasion! Already done this past weekend: closet organizing systems installed in Noelle and Alien's rooms! Way to go BSax! Now we just need to finish the basement for real since we need the guest room upstairs, get Noelle big girl furniture so we can use the crib, and (fingers crossed!) finish potty training Noelle so that we only have 1 in diapers! No big deal!
